The Ocean View Cafe was clean and spacious. It was set up with lots of enticing stations. I much prefer this station style of buffet to the cafeteria line style.
Since we had not been eating much produce on the trip, Sweet Pea wanted to start with a salad. The salad bar looked great.
Yummy!
I also had some curry which was very good. The pork vindaloo was especially tasty. The chicken dish was actually a little too spicy for me. I was not a fan of the dal because it had kidney beans in it.
The selection of fruit was not expansive, including only pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon and honeydew. The honeydew was excellent. The watermelon was mushy.
After lunch, Ross went to Cafe al Bacio for cappuccinos. They were creamy with lots of thick foam.
These drink menus were on the tables.
No one ever came over and asked to take our drink order, however several servers did stop by and asked if we wanted to buy a drink package. When we explained that we already had the premium package, they quickly hurried away to sell the packages to the next table.
Water, tea, juice and coffee are free for everyone at one of the buffet stations. However if you want anything else with your meal, even if it is just a soda, it is comes from this bar. Sometimes a server will take your order, but if the buffet is busy at all, you have to stand in line here.
There were signs on all of the tables asking diners to please leave the premises once they had finished eating so we decided to move out to the pool deck.
It only took four cruises for me to learn to pack our swim suits in our carry-on. Embarkation
Day is usually a great time to swim because there aren't very many other people in the pool yet.
While Sweet Pea and Ross swam, Grandma Trudy and I chatted with a nice couple from Canada who were on the second leg of their back-to-back cruise.
Sweet Pea kept swimming for a little while after the announcement was made that the cabins were ready, but she was eventually ready to get out to go check out our rooms.
Next time I'll post some pictures of our cabin.
